Days 4/5/6 ~ Samburu / Elephant Watch Camp
Your private charter takes you past snow topped Mt. Kenya to Samburu. On the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, you will find the private camp of Oria & Iain Douglas Hamilton. It is home to some of the largest elephant bulls in Samburu.

The eco-friendly camp, its wide and breezy desert tents draped with colorful cloth and unusual furniture, accommodates a maximum of ten guests. Open bathrooms are built around the trees
with plenty of heated water in your bucket shower, delivered to your tent by your Samburu steward. There is no running water in the camp, and light is provided by kerosene lamps.Take early morning or evening bush walks along well-traveled elephant paths or collect medicinal plants and honey, always accompanied by a Samburu warrior and guide.

At times one can witness the great river crossings of camels and cattle, fire making and Samburu ceremonies. Elephant Watch Safaris was selected as a world "hot spot" by Conde Nast Traveller in 2002 and voted Best Tented Safari by The Week magazine in 2003.
